Cookie policy

This website sets no cookies to analyse you, track you or recognise you across other websites. No advertising networks and no social media widgets are embedded. For audience measurement we use Vercel Web Analytics: the service works without cookies and neither stores nor reads anything on your device.

Exactly two cookies are set. The first records how you answered our cookie question — without it we could not remember a “no” and would have to ask you again on every visit. The second stores the language you are reading in, and is set only if you agree to it. If you decline, it is not set, and any existing one is deleted.

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device in order to recognise you on a later visit. Under Luxembourg law — Article 4 of the amended law of 30 May 2005 on privacy protection in electronic communications — cookies may only be set with your prior consent, unless they are strictly necessary for the operation of the website.

The editorial area's session cookie concerns only us: the address /studio holds the area we use to maintain this site's content, and anyone who signs in there receives a cookie without which signing in would not be technically possible. As a visitor to the website you will never encounter it.

You can change your answer at any time. The “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page reopens the question. If you withdraw your agreement, the language cookie is deleted immediately. The site carries on working exactly as before; it then works out the language on each visit from your browser's language settings instead of remembering your choice.

The fonts on this website are served from our own server and are not loaded from Google Fonts or any other third party. The audience measurement script is likewise held at our own address.

Images from our editorial system are the exception: they may be served directly to your browser by Sanity's CDN. Your IP address is then transmitted as a technical necessity, without anything being stored on your device. There is more on this in our privacy policy.

Every browser lets you view and delete stored cookies and restrict the setting of new ones. You will find the setting in your browser's preferences under “Privacy” or “Security”.
